David Officer - Chair

David has over 30 years’ experience in company management and holds a Batchers of Business with a double major in economics and law. David joined the HART Services Board of Management in 2016 and was elected as Chair in 2020. Davis is he General Manager of Fuji Xerox Business Centre, Lismore and is passionate about community and his experience in sales and marketing is a valuable asset to HART Services.

Jenny Smit - Vice Chair

Jenny has 38 years lived experience of the issues effecting people with disabilities and their families. Shas has an understanding and willingness to advance people with disabilities to participate and enjoy a fully active and engaged life. Jenny holds a BA in Communications (Social Analysis) is an active Board Member for a NFP disability advocacy group and has worked within the disability service sector with various organisations, including Project Officer at an Advocacy Service (ACTION for People with Disability). Jenny’s experience is invaluable as HART Services engage in NDIS service provision.

Mark Wilson - Secretary and Public Officer

Mark commenced volunteering with HART Services as a medical transport driver in May 2012 soon joining the Board of Management in 2012. Mark brings firsthand knowledge and experience in providing services to our clients as well as his extensive administrative, financial and management experience. Employed for 30 years at Southern Cross University, Mark’s roles included Acting Director of Student Services and University Quality Officer.  Mark is actively involved in the community and also volunteers with the Goonellabah-Wollongbar and Districts Lions Club.

Barrie Jenkins - Board Member

Bill MacDonald - Board Member

Bill commenced volunteering with HART Services in May 2017 as a medical transport driver and joined the Board of Management in November 2017. Bill was a founding member of the Lismore City Council Public Transport and Access Committee and has many years’ experience in investigating and progressing public transport and access issues, including physical access. Bill has qualifications in Traffic Management and Emergency Service Management and has an interest in assisting the community in realising improved transport and access.

Aunty Maureen Logan - Board Member

Aunty Maureen is a Bundjalung woman who has lived on Coodjingburra country all her life and has vast personal and professional experience of people with a disability. Aunty Maureen has extensive governance experience including current Board Membership and 8 years involvement with First Peoples Disability Network (FPDN). Aunty Maureen has also been a member of the Aboriginal Disability Network (AND) for 12 years, including 5 years as a Board Member.

Aunty Maureen’s interests include film making, cultural (Gunngah Binnung) eg: Exhibitions and fishing.

Theodora Savona - Board Member

Theodora Savona has extensive local knowledge and has worked in many colourful industries including the film industry and LGBTI event management. Theodora has served the community in various voluntary capacities, including as a Nimbin HART Services driver, ACON, Tropical Fruits, The Lions Club and YWCA. She has worked with local Aboriginal groups and is currently in her final year of completing an Associate Degree in Law at SCU. Theodora runs a small business, has worked in Aged Care and employment services. Also, coming from a culturally diverse background, Theodora brings a wealth of relevant experience, including social, financial, community and special needs group expertise.

Warwick Fisher - Board Member

Warwick joined the HART Services Board of Management in 2013. Involved with community development since 1984, the first 17 years of which were in the Home Care Service of NSW and broader HAAC program where he managed Home Care services at local, regional and State level. He was responsible for seeking funding and then implementing HAAC services for Indigenous aged and disabled clients in Casino, Moree and Gunnedah. Warwick joined Southern Cross University in 1992 where he continued to be involved with Aboriginal community administration till 2010. Warwick lectures with SCU’s School of Law & Justice - Land Law, Business Law, Contract Law + consultant Local Aboriginal Land Councils throughout the Far North Coast of NSW.
