SunSmart balance for vitamin D and skin cancer prevention
The sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the major cause of skin cancer and the best natural source of vitamin D, which is essential for strong bones and overall health. In Australia, it is important to take a balanced UV approach to minimise your risk of skin and eye damage and skin cancer; and to help with your vitamin D levels.
This course for indoor workers will step you through a series of modules that will explore why UV is a hazard and sources of UV; how you can protect yourselves from UV while gaining enough for helping vitamin D levels; risk factors for skin cancer; how you can prevent skin cancer; and how you can check your skin for signs of skin cancer.
Please note that this course requires you to login to the Cancer Council Website, so you will need to sign up to start. This training takes around an hour and provides you with a certificate on completion. Cancer Council eLearning course
